Redenham Park was the hottest ever for our Regional and Club event, no signs of the usual rain and winds, instead we delighted in the heat. The Park looked magnificent and a change of venue for the dressage and cones course from within the front park up to our top paddock, where the ground was so much flatter and the area vast for warming up, was very much appreciated by Regional and club competitors alike.
Dressage and cones on the Saturday was followed by a magnificent supper in the marquee; smoke salmon, coronation chicken or gammon and all the salads could think of followed by gateau’s and a cheese board all lovingly prepared by our Catering Manager, Jane and her helpers Jane, Gillian and Sue. The evening was then rounded off with singing from Chris Berntsen with those who had energy left danced the night away.
Course Designers Chris & Karen Laing had worked hard to bring us seven lovely and different obstacles with the bomb crater still being the main talking point, although plenty of options meant that it was not as scary as it could have been and as usual drove without incident.
Following the Regional competitors the club competitors set off on a shorter marathon route with six of the seven obstacles being driven, all enjoyed the route and the obstacles with only one competitor coming to grief when a wheel mounted a post and tipped driver and groom out, other than a few bruises, no serious injury and all came home smiling.

In the club event Isobel Eyres led from start to finish in the Novice class to win and take the honours as the Best Junior driver. Nicola Blandin led after dressage in the open class only to be eliminated through an uncorrected error in one of the obstacles to let Jack Ralph take the win. Full club results can be found here.
